You should now see your full system report. In the pop-up window that shows, at the bottom of that screen is a button 'System Report'. Now cross-check this information because it is the way to know when your new Bluetooth dongle is activated and in use: Click on the APPLE icon in the menu bar, select 'About this Mac'. If you did not yet plug in your USB luetooth dongle, the address you see should be your Mac's built-in Bluetooth adapter.Ħ. This is the specific address of the Bluetooth transmitter currently in use internal to the Mac device. Look at line 3, which starts with the word 'ADDRESS:' You'll see a sequence of numbers and letters something like the following: 00-22-41-CE-46-24 (The letters and numbers you see may be different- that is OK!) Also, this line is greyed-out on the screen. This will drop down a menu which shows some additional info than just a regular click on the Bluetooth icon. Hold the OPTION KEY down and click Bluetooth Icon in Menu Bar. You should now see the Bluetooth icon in the Mac Menu Bar.ĥ. At bottom of the window is a checkbox: Show Bluetooth in menu bar.
Open your Mac System Preferences, select 'Bluetooth' under System Preferences.ģ. DO NOT plug in your USB Bluetooth dongle before starting.
